It’s pretty much downhill from here….
From the Associated Press:
WASHINGTON – The Justice Department on Thursday said Internet service providers should be allowed to charge a fee for priority Web traffic. The agency told the Federal Communications Commission, which is reviewing high-speed Internet practices, that it is opposed to “Net neutrality,” the principle that all Internet sites should be equally accessible to any Web user. Several phone and cable companies, such as AT&T Inc., Verizon Communications Inc. and Comcast Corp., have previously said they want the option to charge some users more money for loading certain content or Web sites faster than others.

What does this mean? Do you like YouTube or play online games? You would now have to pay you ISP a fee for “priority” service. Basically even though your “hi-speed” internet that you pay $50 a month for that promises you 7mb/1mb up/download speed… Has over sold their capacity and looking for people to foot the bill. IPTV or TV content over the internet is still in it’s infancy, and this could be a very big hamper in everyones plans. The internet was designed to be free and this has pretty much put the nail in the “Net Neutrality” coffin.SUPPORT –> www.SaveTheInternet.com
